ALOHA & WELCOME
I'm a scientist, ecological designer and community advisor focused on restoring and protecting ecological integrity through research, collaboration, planning, and long-term implementation.
Truly sustainable solutions come from taking a holistic, integrated approach that does not exclude the human aspect, but understands that we are a part of nature, not apart from nature.
We have everything we need to solve today's problems, today.
Let us stand on the shoulders of the great thinkers who came before us. Let us form collaborative alliances with people from different disciplines, different countries, different cultures.
Let us listen and learn from each other. Let us embrace change.
We are a force of nature when we work together.
To understand any problem, I look at all the influencing factors, and assess the relative dominance of each. My current focus is on quantifying pollutant removal mechanisms in Low Impact Development features via physical filtration, sorption to ionic exchange sites, microbial breakdown, and vegetative uptake.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we must work together, with a clear, open dialogue, and decide how we are going to measure success. My standards are exceptionally high, and I go out of my way to exceed them in every new project. I strive to deliver uncompromising quality. When we reach our goal, we'll get ready to take on the next big challenge together, stronger than we were before.
IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM,
FOCUS YOUR POWER AND ENERGY ON THE SOLUTION
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge, learn from others, and help move any sustainability effort forward. I am happy to help with ecological design projects, community visioning, research, monitoring, or other sustainability needs. Please feel free to reach out if you have a project idea or collaboration you would like to discuss.
